Bible Academy | Ruth’s Story

The book of Ruth is a true story about love and family that illustrates God’s sovereign plan of redemption. After her husband and sons die, Naomi decides to return to her native Israel alone. But her Moabite daughter-in-law Ruth declares her devotion and claims the God of Israel as her own. Naomi is very bitter toward God but once her kinsman Boaz enters their lives, she clearly sees God’s plan for Ruth. Their faith is soon rewarded through the marriage of Ruth and Boaz and the birth of Obed, the grandfather of King David. Ruth shows us how one woman’s faithfulness in following the God of Israel led to great blessings not only for her but ultimately for the world as she takes her place in the family line of Jesus Christ.
